Dennis R. Finch, 77, a lifelong resident of Verona, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on March 21, 2025. Born in Morris, Dennis built a successful career as the owner of Finch Tax & Accounting and as a union electrician, alongside running a local sports publication. He served his community as the mayor of Verona, dedicating himself to improving the village he loved. Known for his appreciation of antiques and antique cars, Dennis had a passion for RV travel and cherished time spent with his family. He will be remembered for his generosity, dedication, and love for his family, friends, and community. Survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and beloved canine companion, Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and nephew. A memorial visitation and service will be held at Fruland Funeral Home in Morris. Contributions in his memory can be made to Just Animals Shelter in Mazon or to the family for a future project for the betterment of the Village of Verona.
