Wilmington City Council approves legislative items at board meeting

According to the Wilmington City Council, the Consent Agenda was approved at the October 15 council meeting, with five votes in favor, none against, and four members absent. The agenda covered several items impacting zoning, budget items, and a resolution.

The City of Wilmington said that the council approved Ordinance No. 24-10-15-01, which rezones a certain property to the I-5 large-scale planned industrial zoning district. The area is Elion Logistics Park 55.

Several budgetary items were also approved at the meeting. An estimate from DJ’s Heating and Air Conditioning to replace a gas tube heater in the second building at Public Works was approved, not to exceed $5,900 for the work.

The council further approved a quote from Conley Excavating to replace the drive-thru lane at City Hall with concrete and to add an inlet drain with an open lid, not to exceed $18,340. Additionally, a quote from Overhead Door Company of Joliet was approved to install a roll-up garage door at the Pump House, not exceeding $8,891.84.

Wilmington Council also passed Resolution No. 2024-13 for Improvement Under the Illinois Highway Code for the Park Street Improvement Project.

Lastly, repairs made by J+A Fleet Maintenance to equipment #47 were approved for a total cost of $9,792.12. For more details about the contracts and vendors, please review the October 15 minutes' attachments.
