The City of Wilmington newsletter has reported that free home assessments and energy efficiency kits are available for residents of Wilmington.
According to the newsletter, the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program is offering free energy assessments to both homeowners and renters. Customers residing in homes with two units or less, townhomes, duplexes, and individually owned and metered condos are eligible to participate.
Participants may receive energy-saving products at no cost, including WaterSense® certified showerheads, WaterSense certified faucet aerators for kitchen and bath, hot water pipe insulation for water heaters, programmable thermostat installation or energy-saving reprogramming for residents with existing thermostats, and select LEDs (for ComEd customers only).
