There were 39 Hispanic students enrolled in L.J. Stevens Intermediate School in the 2022-23 school year, 62.5% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 325 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 12% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U with a central office in Wilmington.

Among the four schools in Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U, Wilmington High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 403 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
